How your session works

A simple, personalized four-step process

Dry cupping uses suction only, while wet cupping includes the traditional Hijama step after the initial suction stage.

01

Consultation & Assessment

Your practitioner discusses your health history, concerns, comfort level and goals, then identifies suitable treatment areas and the appropriate cupping method.

02

Preparation & Cup Placement

The treatment area is prepared and cups are placed on selected points. Controlled suction is then created and adjusted for comfort.

03

Your Cupping Treatment

With dry cupping, suction is applied without incisions. With wet cupping, small superficial incisions are made after initial suction and the cups are reapplied.

04

Aftercare & Recovery

The cups are removed, the area is cleaned as required, and you receive guidance on hydration, rest, activity and caring for the treated area.

After your session

Simple aftercare matters

Temporary circular marks, mild redness or tenderness can occur after cupping. Your practitioner will provide instructions appropriate to the treatment you received.

  • Drink water and stay well hydrated.
  • Rest and avoid strenuous activity for about 24 hours when advised.
  • Avoid very hot baths, saunas or steam immediately after treatment.
  • Keep treated areas clean and follow your practitioner’s instructions.
Frequently Asked Questions

What to know before booking

Clear answers about dry cupping, wet cupping and what to expect from your session.

What is Hijama or wet cupping?
Hijama is a traditional form of wet cupping. Cups first create suction on selected areas, then small superficial incisions are made and suction is reapplied to remove a small amount of blood.
What is the difference between dry cupping and wet cupping?
Dry cupping uses suction only and does not involve incisions or blood removal. Wet cupping, also known as Hijama, adds superficial skin incisions and a second suction stage. Both treatments are personalized according to your assessment.
Does cupping hurt?
Cupping creates a pulling or tight sensation from the suction. Wet cupping also includes small superficial incisions, so the experience differs from dry cupping. Your practitioner can adjust the suction according to your comfort.
How long does a cupping session take?
A typical appointment is approximately 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the selected service, treatment areas, consultation and individual treatment plan.
Why do circular marks appear after cupping?
Suction can temporarily change the appearance of the treated skin, leaving circular redness or marks. These marks are generally temporary and commonly fade over the following days.
How often should I book cupping?
There is no single schedule that suits everyone. Frequency depends on your goals, the type of cupping and your practitioner’s assessment. A personalized recommendation can be discussed during your appointment.
Is cupping safe?
Cupping should be performed by a trained practitioner using appropriate hygiene and infection-control procedures. Suitability is assessed before treatment and the process should be explained before beginning.
Can active people or athletes use cupping?
Cupping is commonly included in wellness and recovery routines by active people. Whether it is appropriate for you depends on your individual needs and assessment.
Please note: Cupping and Hijama are wellness services and are not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment. Individual experiences vary. Suitability should be confirmed with the practitioner before treatment.
